Reasons
to invest
There are good reasons to invest
in Moldova, for the country offers a number of advantages:
- Stable democracy;
- Strategic location - advantageous geographical
position between east and west;
- Since 1 January 2007, the Republic of
Moldova became a neighbour of the EU;
- Cheap labour force with a high degree
of qualification and extensive language knowledge
(in particular Russian and Romanian);
- Reach in natural resources particularly
in the agribusiness sector, where Moldova is a traditional
supplier of quality products for the entire region;
- Favourable climatic conditions for producing
a variety of agricultural products;
- Trade preferences offered by the EU;
- Multiple trade agreements with all CIS
countries;
- Multiple bilateral treaties on the protection
of investments.
Besides this, the Moldovan Government
has introduced a series of tax incentives in the form
of waivers of corporate tax, special incentives for
certain types of activity and for investors who conducts
activities on the territory of free economic zones.
Also, the Government of the Republic
of Moldova takes clear actions to improve the investment
environment and to reduce legislative and regulatory
barriers for foreign investors.

The Moldovan Investment and Export
Promotion Organization (MIEPO)
has developed a series of informative brochures named
the "Investment Guide", representing a particular
interest for potential and existing foreign investors

MIEPO
The Moldovan Investment and Export Promotion
Organization (MIEPO)
is an state organization under the Ministry
of Economy and Trade of the Republic of Moldova.
Its goal is social and economic development of the
Republic of Moldova and its citizens through investment
attraction and export promotion activities. In fact
MIEPO has two main objectives:
- To help local enterprises to achieve
profitable exports values and to assist in promoting
exports that match the international competition;
- To promote foreign direct investment
in Moldova and their role as a main driving power
for economic development of the country.
Autonomous
Trade Preferences (ATP)
On January 31, 2008, has entered
into force the COUNCIL REGULATION (EC) No 55/2008
of 21 January 2008 introducing autonomous trade preferences
for the Republic of Moldova and amending Regulation
(EC) No 980/2005 and Commission Decision 2005/924/EC.
